Today as a girl left work I called her over to my register and asked her if she had a boyfriend. She replied "no" then I asked her on a date. She said she was flattered (and then repeated that she was "very flattered") and that she would "think about it" (usually meaning "no") however she went out of her way to give me her number.

I made the interaction into a no big deal kind of thing. In fact, I started helping a customer before we could finish the conversation. It all seems very contradictory. Some of the behavior was as if she was interested, but some seemed as if she was trying to "let me off easy"

Anyone have insight on this interaction from a RP point of view? Perhaps a shit test of sorts?
