I am sure this is what is holding me back. I meet people everywhere, in class, at the gym, when I'm out, at parties, etc but I can never seem to make a connection. Maybe I'm just vapid and these people see my superficial personality.
The friends I do keep are lower value and maybe that's why I can't make progress, I dunno. I know this for a fact because this past weekend when I invited someone out they asked, "Who are you going with?" My response was, "I'm going with X," to which they responded, "Oh." And didn't accept my invitation.
Given, that hasn't happened to me before but that was my wake-up call and now I'm wondering if this is the reason why I've been making progress so slowly.
I've been lifting and I get looks from girls; I've even escalated with a few. Once they get to know me more, however, they seem to lose interest really fast.
Most guys I see around have groups doing things together 5-6 guys strong. But I don't have that, and I'm flailing around trying to see how I can make such a bonding connection. Maybe I'm an asshole. Maybe I'm too needy for friends that I drive them away. Maybe my life is bland.
I'm going to join a frat to see if that can help me really connect with guys but I'm curious as to how the guys at my school not in Greek life do without. Any tips or advice?
