I don't get frame control. Is it acting?

Frame is self control.

It's the ability to lock eyes with a lion and not show an ounce of fear, even though your life could easily be over.

It's not laughing at a joke you don't think is funny, despite social pressure.

It's fighting through self doubt following through with saying hi to that girl at the gym, even though you'll probably be awkward, fuck it up and embarrass yourself.

Frame is deciding what your version of reality is, and convincing yourself and those around with near certainty, that you're correct.

Protip: if you're not actively deciding the pace, in the moment, you're in someone else's frame.

It's the opposite of acting. It is knowing yourself and your values and sticking to them no matter what.

You have one view of the way the world works. This is your frame.

She has a view of how the world works. This is her frame.

Let's pick something boring: paying for dinner. When you go out to dinner with a girl that you're not yet fucking, do you pay? Does she pay? Do you split it? Let's say your world view is that she pays. Let's say that her world view is that the guy always pays for dinner, no matter what. So when the bill comes, what do you do? Do you confidently pick it up, hand it to her and say, "You'll take care of this."? Or do you say nothing, and act surprised when she looks at the bill and says, "Aren't you going to pay the bill?"?

Do you cave in to her frame, or do you hold yours firm?
