Because this is what dread does. It makes the girl nervous, unsure of herself, unsure of the relationship. Instead of her going back to nice and bubbly and putting you first, she is scared.

The initial problem you had with her now turns into a new emotional/behavioral problem for you.

Because dealing with an anxious needy girlfriend hard.
