I'm asking this out of genuine curiosity. I have become a beta loser due to my relationship, and have been working on changing that. Likely will be breaking up any day now, but wanted to improve myself first.
Back when I was single I was never your textbook 'alpha male', but I generally would be the 'funny' guy in a group, and would often be the center of attention. Most of my sex was achieved this way, as women seemed to flock the funny guy. I would make fun of other people, but would probably make fun of myself even harder (lots of humility). I think that this worked, but I am wondering when I am single, if this is still the best strategy to take? I am fairly quick witted, and am really good at saying funny things on the go, and firing quick jabs at people. The cocky-funny thing that is referenced seems to apply really well to how I game. I do wonder, however, if my self deprecating humor actually causes some of the more high caliber women to shy away? E.G I may be able to obtain a 6-8 with this strategy, but may need to up my game to hit a 9 or 10?
For the record, I generally come off as very confident, and many of the things I make fun of I clearly do so out of confidence on that issue (e.g I've found making a small penis joke about myself in a group of women usually results in a lot of laughs, because I don't think someone with a tiny penis would confidently joke about it in a group of women), but I wonder if it actually comes off as veiled low self esteem.
Any thoughts on this?
