What’s up guys.

There will be a reasonable amount of cringe in the end of this short post. Bear with me.

So I used to get volunteer hours months ago in college working with children in an after school program. I met a number of other college aged people there who were also volunteering, mostly women which was good.

One of them that I found attractive I went out for coffee and other small things with a few times and hung out at the comedy store with her, here and there maybe five times total. We had this little game where the first time she bought and picked out a coffee for us, and then the next time I did the same for her, and we went back and forth on it.

Around this time, the girl started doing small things like buying me coffee beans and reusable straws, and also tried to invite herself to BJJ because she said she wanted to learn, after I had rag dolled her and picked her up over my head while we were playing dodgeball with the children.

I gently refused that.

Anyways, because I’m a pussy, in a text exchange with her, she had playfully accused me of making sexual innuendos with her, and I kind of lost frame, and got pissed off, because I thought she may have been rejecting me by asking “Heyy was that a sexual innuendo??” after I had asked her if she wanted to have a “sesh” with me the following weekend. I was totally thinking we were going to have the usual hangout session, roast me if you want.

She was totally confused, and was apologizing profusely if she had offended me in some way.

I compounded the issue because I’m a pussy by basically writing a few sentences about how Im not offended, but that I don’t feel romantic feelings for her, and that I’m just disappointed that she would assume I’m making a sexual play on her, when I actually just enjoy our friendship.

She responded by apologizing about 5x, saying she completely understands, and that she was confused and misunderstood my text, and that she was also making a joke of the situation. She said she totally gets that I don’t want a romantic relationship with her and that it’s mutual (have no idea if she just said this to protect herself). She ended the text with saying that if the offer still stands, she would love to go with me still.

I was hesitant and didn’t respond for 3 days. Then I said no worries and suggested a date/time, and she never responded to that.

So I figured she just wasn’t interested or was upset in some kind of way.

This whole situation happened about a month ago. Then Friday I went back to the kids place (where she still volunteers at it turns out) and ran into her by chance. She was smiling at me instantly when I walked in, and then we had a funny awkward situation where one of the little kids tried to get us to tango (like the dance) together and she put her head down and said “Nooo, he doesn’t know how to.”

The rest of the time, she basically didn’t talk to me apart from very basic small talk.

Should I leave her alone, or try to contact her/escalate?
