Basically yes.

You can always ramp it up later.

But you are already doing this wrong, because you are already trying to make it work.

Instead maintain a healthy scepticism..... "see how this goes" and "this works for now, who knows in the future". This is absolutely fucking essential for a happy life.

Complacency is your worst enemy. As said before, focus on improving yourself.

Dread is applied by keeping an increasing SMV and managing emotional investment. That also allows time for in-depth vetting (spotting less obvious red flags for example).
