I’m a Hindu from the states - was vegetarian for the first 18 years of my life. I don’t suppose my genetics vary too much from yours.

For some background, I’m 26 weigh 178 lbs; and my lifts are currently at 405 deadlift, 250 bench, and 315 squat. I also run marathons and complete events like tough mudder frequently. I still believe I can improve but the point here is that if you put the work in, you can make things happen.

If you’re not religious there’s no reason not to start eating meat - makes it significantly easier to consume your daily protein. Indians love their tandoori chicken, just stay away from anything with cream mixed in.

Get yourself to the gym - practice form first and add on weight acccordingly. Embrace the journey, you’ll see beginner gains immediately but don’t settle there. Read more about nutrition and what’s actually good for you vs what’s not (the Indian diet is shit btw).

Rome wasn’t built overnight, more than happy to help if you want it.

Eat more protein - protein powder, Greek yoghurt whatever you need.

Drink lots of water as that will help with recovery.

At the start you will feel quite sore since your body isn’t used to lifting weights repeatedly but in time it will subside. After some time you may get sore the odd time but that will probably be due to a great workout

Same here, hindu and Indian and forcefully vegetarian. I am getting out of home in about 2-3 months for college. Delhi University or st Xavier's Mumbai probably. I will start eating eggs and chicken regularly.

What I suggest is- 1) get out of home. (I am a small town boy) if you live in a big city with family then it is hard for you to get out. 2) if not 1) try peas, paneer, milk, tofu and soyabean (in less amount because ESTROGEN), lentils, sprouts , whey powder, casein etc are more than enough. 3) there is egg white powder. Remove the label and take it at home nobody will know. 4) try to have eggs at roadside stalls and shit.

Dairy and eggs are great sources of protein.

You didn't specify whether you actually care about following this religion, or if you are just doing what your family expects you to. If the latter, eat meat.
