I’m making good money in IT as a software developer, however my current role is a contract that has 3 months more before it will expire or they renew it.

I have just moved to a new city and rent is really high here. It appears to about 250-300/week if you are sharing a place with others. Or about 450+/week for a studio apartment, plus expenses. You could be paying 500/week plus expenses.

My current living situation is not that good though. I’ve moved in with a girl that I met shortly after arriving but am not that into her and know that there’s not going to be a future with things with her. I think she probably knows we’re not gonna progress further, and she doesn’t make any overt commitment demands, but I am living with her...

She cooks for me and we split the bills so I’m paying very little for rent but I know I need to move out. She knows I am looking for a place and is fine with me doing that but ‘hopes I will not find one’. There is another girl I met recently, but however I don’t feel that good about it with my current living situation, and also about how I’m not living very authentically.

I know it doesn’t sound good. What should I be doing here?
