In a traditional sense marriage secured you the loyalty of a partner. Today I'm not really sure what to think or even expect from women. In the beginning, when I first started dating, I used to hold high expectations from my gf/partner/ltr, but over the years those have dropped and now I'm at the point where I've almost lost faith in women and don't really see any significance behind holding an ltr, aside from some secured sex and a little bit of emotional contentment. In my mind, I'm in disbelief and really confused, I don't know what to think, expect or even want anymore. The expectations that I had in the past for a counterpart included her to be fully transparent, loyal, complement my skill set, and be there for me in times of need. Am I really asking for too much? Every girl that I've met continues to hide things even when she believes that she isn't or is just there for personal gain, and this just has led to disappointment in my eyes. Where am I going wrong?
