LTR texted me saying “I’ll just talk to you tomorrow” followed by an “x” in a separate message shortly after - I presume to not be rude - after I rang her for our usual nightly phone call. I replied “cool x”.

Yesterday I had been on the phone to her for a long time, almost 2 hours, helping her with coursework. Wanting to adhere to the push-pull dynamic, I skipped calling her in the evening. She texted me around about the time that we usually call, thanking me and saying that she appreciated my help. I didn’t reply.

Today she texted me thanking me as I had messaged her sister directly, giving her some medical advice, so her sister must have told her that I had helped. I replied, this time, with a relevant joke. She called me shortly after I sent my reply and said she wanted to thank me for “giving her so much to say thank you for”. We spoke for about 30 minutes and it was the usual, fun, teasing dynamic. However, she acted rather peculiarly during the call. At the start she asked me “are you OK?” as if to check if something was up - perhaps a reference to me withdrawing a bit - and then she brought up the fact that one of my friends warned her that I “get bored easily” - something that happened at least 2 months ago. I teased her about it then continued the conversation normally. The call ended quite abruptly, though, as she ran into a family friend. She said “I’ll call you back in a second” before hanging up, but I text her saying “I’ll just talk to you later” as I wanted to get back to studying.

Is it possible that she didn’t want to call tonight as a response to me withdrawing? Have I applied too much dread/given too little comfort? How should I proceed tomorrow?
