I mentioned in a previous post that I am interviewing. I’ve been working with a recruiter. Originally she let slip that the job pays 75-85k for z position.

I got through several interviews (3) all positive feed back all expressed interest.

The bitch recruiter comes to me with offer. She forgot she let slip the 75-85. So she offers me 70. I explain to her she already told me it pays 75 (minimum) so why would she offer me 70? She claims that was a different position. Z position in which I’m actually being offered y position.

She also tells me she can offer me a SMALL relocation package. I ask- why can I not have a normal relocation package? I have to move everything 6 hours away and it’s not going to be cheap. She angrily tells me that it comes out of her cut of the profit for her services.

So I call the man who is working with the recruiter. I ask him about relocation. He tells me “why don’t you let me and the recruiter discuss that” I say ok well what position is it exactly? I explain how she’s changing what she says so I just want a clear answer “he tells me that’s not important let’s not get hung up on that”. I’m honestly stunned by both of these answers and didn’t know what to say.

The thing is, even if I get the 76k. It’s a 15k increase in my current salary. And there is plenty of opportunity for growth. However, the disrespect from the recruiter and the actual boss pissed me off.

I’m kind of thinking about saying fuck this shit and telling them “you know what, never mind but thank you for the opportunity.” Because I’m feeling like the recruiter is trying to take advantage of me and make a killing off me. I don’t know what to do though and would appreciate some honest feedback.
