For starters im a 19 year old guy, majoring in math looking to go into something finance related. Solid GPA,good hobbies, reading habits, lifting habits, not overflowing with pussy but enough to keep me ok. Far from perfect but I feel I'm on a good trajectory and if I keep it up I'll get where I wanna be.

My biggest issue and setback most recently has been my mother. She has a good heart and really cares about me and others but she's controlling and crazy (literally diagnosed with bipolar and on meds). Dad was in and out through childhood although the last year we've rekindled very well, has his flaws but total textbook alpha and overall a good influence on me right now.

Mom going out with a boyfriend of several years whose an OK guy but pretty beta and remarkably selfish and caters to himself mostly but whenever my mom gets upset he goes into total supplicating mode. Don't really have problems with him,we generally stay out of each other's way.

In high-school I realized my mom was holding me back alot and so I planned and achieved being able to dorm at a well ranked college. My relationship with my mom has gotten much better since I left for School as she finally realizes that when I'm there im out of her control and treats me like an adult.

The issue is when I come home for any extended period. Fast forward to a few weeks ago,I get home from school, all is dandy and nice the first few days and she starts going back to old habits while I'm trying to get my summer schedule set up with bjj classes, gym, job, studies and really stay on top of everything to make the most out of my time.

As I'm trying to do this she constantly accuses me of being selfish and uncaring, and is becoming very controlling again. I really try to be amicable and help her whenever she needs but at the same time I'm trying to get work done so I can better myself but she's making it extremely difficult to do so,constantly dragging me places, ignoring any routines or schedules I have and then going apeshit whenever I try to explain that this stuff is really important to my development and career (we're pretty fucking poor).

Im feeling overwhelmed like I'm trying so hard to make myself a better person and she's just not allowing it and would rather have me tag along with her and just hang out and watch TV in my free time. Due to previously mentioned economic restrictions I can't really afford to move out right now, my plan was to weather the storm till I finished school but I feel like my career and future is in jeopardy and I don't know what to do. Even bringing this shit up in conversation leads to her getting upset and crying and yelling that I'm "selfish just like my father".

I'd like to figure out a way to live harmoniously and get my shit done as well as help her out with what she needs but it's very difficult and I'm at a loss.

Any suggestions as to how I could better my situation and fix this issue? Thanks in advance.
