Introduction:

Late high school, typical football jock fucked around with girls etc. I finally settled down and fell completely in love with one girl whom I thought was perfect during my junior/senior year. A few months goes by catch her lying about guys/being manipulative/weird.. it gets worse and worse breakup happens whatever. Fast-forward, a few more months goes by and I begin to have people asking me around school if I "Raped" this girl. Apparently, the girl was telling her friends that she felt "pressured" into having sex with me yet she was the one who initiated it and I asked several times if she was ok with doing it (it was her virginity). Those friends then were then telling everyone around the school I raped her (I truly believe the girl told her friends straight up that I raped her instead of "pressured"). I didn't think much of it and always denied etc. A few years goes by and I am still having people ask me the same question, "hey I heard you raped x". Of course, the frequency of people asking went down dramatically but it's still tedious having someone ask every few weeks/months. Over time I didn't think it ever effected me but I have realized it really did leave a bad imprint on me being this was the only girl in my life whom I truly did love (dated a few other girls after). I have had many issues getting close to girls or trusting them and I have fears of even getting with women too soon due to the fact I have a fear in my subconscious they may try to ruin my life.

A few years goes by, and after getting asked again recently I finally decided I needed to talk to the girl who started the whole false rape accusation (I hadn't talk to her since the break up years ago in high school). To my surprise she was extremely nice and was glad I reached out to talk about it, but to my dismay she slowly turned her arguments into well you shouldn't have treated me the way you did during our break up, you were mean, and your actions caused people to think that. It seriously left me with even more disdain and disgust as she later on through out talking about this demanded that I apologize to her... seriously? After this conversation ended I felt better but I only realized that I really have an issue of trying to move past this whole false rape accusation.

I appreciate any ideas or words of advice and urge other men to speak out if they have had similar experience happen to them.
