In 1998 I was 24 years old and in my best physical condition, so I thought. All I cared about was size though. At my biggest I weighed 230 at 6’2”. One of my older coworkers (he was 48y old) told me to never stop exercising. If only had I listened to him.
After an intense leg day I was really sore and wanted to rest on my day off. My gf asked “Why do you lift if it make you so sore?”, so I stopped lifting. I married this gf. Then 18 years and 50lb of fat later I went through a divorce.
Now 2 years later I’m 46 years old, 6’2” and a lean athletic 195lb. I mountain bike, ride bike trainers, box, lift, do yoga, and I feel better then I did in my 20’s.
Guys!!! Don’t stop exercising. If you don’t exercising start today. Lifting for size is cool, but being athletic is more fun.
Also make sure you keep athletic male friends, nether your lady nor your children should take the place of your male friends, and older athletic friends are the hardest to come by.
