Ill try to keep this short. New girl in my social circle was flirting and showing IOIs so I got her number and started texting her.

I end up joking with her about how I thought she was kind of boring when I first met her and how she didn't seem like the spontaneous type. She says "id do literally anything you'd ask me to" so I follow up with "alright then come hang out at my place this Saturday then."

She says "only if i can bring my boyfriend." and here I'm just completely caught off guard. I heard she had a boyfriend a while ago but i didnt know they were still together. Being a bit worried about my reputation in my social circle i say " yeah for sure, This does kill your spontaneity though. He's not cool with you having friends?"

I'm assuming the whole boyfriend thing was a shit test but do you guys there was a better way to handle in case it happens in the future? Thanks
