the worst part of both examples is that you're not just being yourself, you're obviously doing it to get attention on social media.

nothing wrong with playing jokes on friends or driving fast by itself. but making a video of you driving fast on a mountain road trying to look like a badass cool guy who does dangerous stuff for fun isn't going to make you look like a badass, it will actually have the opposite effect. everyone will watch it and roll their eyes because you're trying too hard. it's the male equivalent of when ugly fat chicks bullshit about how they have so many hot dudes chasing them.

I'm 30+, been painting/writing graffiti illegaly for more than half my life, most non-risk-taking men call me "childish" and "immature" but I am yet to meet a woman (independent of age) who does not look at me with big gleaming eyes when they find out what I do to get my rushes.

On the other hand many of the same non-risk-taking dudes sit home all evening and play xbox/playstation and I'm yet to see a woman who does not roll her eyes when their "hobby" comes up.

I guess it comes down to if your "childish" thing is exciting and andrenaline-filled or just childish, at least that's what I've taken away from it.

Edit: I agree with /u/blackedoutfast, it matters wether you do it for yourself or for the attention, I don't normaly talk about my "hobby" since it's illegal and there is a lot of trust involved so I never boast or bring it up unless asked about it and I feel that the persons present can be trusted not to spread the information around.
