This is sort of off-topic for TRP but since I couldn't locate the original TRP post which went into a great level of detail on how to utilize TRP in job hunting I'll just go ahead and as you guys.

I applied to a Software Project Manager position in a gaming company and now the recruiter wants to interview me for a different role because she believes that my resume is better suited for that role. It's a higher level management role on theme that I don't know so much a about: IT. This position also requires a language that I don't speak (they know that).

I was wondering if you guys would have some pointers for me, it will be a phone interview first.

Specifically: how do I tackle my lack of experience in the field? I also lack experience in people management outside of project management. So I'm just finding it difficult to understand why they would interview me for this other position and not the one for which my CV is spot on.
