So i missed my friends birthday get together because of conflicting work schedule.

I was told there would be a get together 3 days before before the actual get together but not an exact date and time. So I find out a day before the actual time and I told the person hosting it i'll be working so I can't come.

So the day come around and i'm working. I suggest that I could later and he throws a tantrum about to "not even bother" because I didn't go when he did. Mind you I got him a gift that week since his B-day was during the week. Now he came at me out of pocket and his wife claims she told me the date and time when I was their earlier. Still talking down to me calling me a liar even after the day passed.

Is this toxic behavior?
