The cure for oneitis is simple. Tell yourself that she doesn’t even think about you. She doesn’t care. Nor should she. Your oneitis is not for her. It’s for an imaginary idea you have about a relationship with an idealized version of her which you’ve created in your head. That version of her is very unlikely to exist at all. You may not even know much about her at all.

Is your interest purely physical? Don’t get attached to a piece of meat if that’s what you’re after. Buy a fleshlight. Is it about her “personality” or grace? lol. You probably don’t know the first thing about her.

If you’re interested, make your move. Are you “friends” with her? Perhaps not. Either way, chat her up for a bit, and then on a high note (if one comes) ask her to go get a coffee with you sometime. If no high note comes, and you have a boring, awkward, nasty conversation where she seems dismissive and uninterested, well then that seems like an answer, no? Would you really want to be with a girl with whom you can have no more than boring, awkward conversation? If you would, then I think you can see pretty clearly that you would be being a little bitchboy. Cut that out. Ask her out, and see how it goes. If she says no, she’s either just not interested, or you’re not attractive enough to be worth her time. If she’s not interested: plenty of fish in the sea. Go bark up another tree. If you’re just unattractive: you’ll either need to work on improving yourself or you’ll need to lower your standards. Figure it out. If she says yes: on the date I’m pretty confident that you’d see she isn’t all-that. If I went to school with the Princess Diana I doubt she could have taken me so entirely. People just aren’t so special as to warrant the attention you’re giving this one particular girl. And if you do get along well on the date? Okay, great. See where it goes. But don’t be surprised if it’s not half as special as you had fantasized about it being.

Is she the one girl in your circle of friends? Does she work with you or something? Once you start to meet more women I’m confident that you’ll deflate the value of this one. But you will need to meet more women. It’s up to you to make that happen. School—>work—>your bedroom—>repeat, will not make that happen. Approach strangers. Find new and dandy hobbies.

What I’ll say is that you’ll feel quite freed to have this over with, one way or another.

Write her number on a post it note, and stick it in the back of one of your drawers. Then delete her out from your phone / contact lists.
