Anyone noticed the more redpilled/jacked you become that people start treating you completely differently?

Some background: My father was a pro bodybuilder that owned a local gym. I was always a scrawny nerd. I never got into fitness because I had this weird reputation growing up that i was "Always gonna be like my dad"-not a bad thing at all, he was and still is a great dude that is popular among locals and loved by many. However, I always wanted to be my own person.

I'm now 27, I got into fitness a couple years back, but only started taking it seriously recently. Some people have just started treating me completely like shit. one guy I've been friends with for years (albeit, he is a fatass nerd warcraft player) called me a "Daddys boy little bitch" during a political argument.

Most recently was an argument with my roommate. I told him to get off drugs and he flipped the fuck out, went on this huge insecure rampage. He told me that I put on a "hard ass front" and that i'll never be my father. I was so confused, I don't think I try to act hard at all.

These are just a few examples. Its almost as if the insecurities from my childhood about how people would treat me if I get strong are coming true. But obviously at this point I could give a fuck, i'm just legitimately confused as to what makes people say these types of things. It all seems so silly and ridiculous. The funny part is, I hardly talk to my father. I have a good relationship with him, but I don't text or call him and I maybe see him once every 6 weeks, and when I do we rarely talk fitness.

Anyone else experience this?
