I'm 20 years old and I just started a new chapter of my life: moved out from my parents' to a new city and starting uni in a week. Neither of my parents ever treated me like a grown up (I realize I'm only 20 and still don't know shit about life but I'm not 16 yrs old anymore and would prefer not to be treated as such.)

My question is essentially how I can learn to see myself more as a MAN rather than a boy?

This is basically somewhat of a mental roadblock for me; I look into the mirror and I see a boy and not a man. For instance, as a virgin, this gets in my way a lot: say I'm out at bars or clubs having fun with friends, I do simply not see myself as a guy who should have sex with a girl and thus I don't approach (it is every bit as retarded as it sounds.)

It might lack of parental validation, narcissism or something similar. It might also just be that I lack the confidence. I have no idea.

I realize that there most likely isn't a 1 step solution to this but I'm fed up with it.

I will appreciate any answers and thanks for your time.
