I think your definition or responsive might be a little out of skew. In my experience girls only throw themselves at men they perceive to be at least 2 usually 3 notches above them. That means if a girl is an 8 it's impossible for you to be high value enough for her to throw herself at you (unless your an exception rich/famous/both). Maybe she wasn't unresponsive, you may just have missed her more subtle response. Hope this helps.

Persistence works if the girl has marginal interest.

Next works if the girl has no interest.

Girls > 6.5, especially 8+

you need to let them chase you, you need to act like they have to prove their worth to you. Being persistent doesn't do that and nexting them too quickly gives them no chance to even try. Remember, they're not accustomed to this but after the brief shock of realizing they have to prove their value they will try.

I think you're also misunderstanding persistent vs showing intent. If you show no serious intent to hook up she'll know it. If you make her chase you she'll be less sure of that yet feel the need to push you into attraction because to 8+ girls it's "wrong" that you're not treating her like a princess.

That other guy was more than persistent: he showed real intent and he got results. He might be hotter than you. Or he might just have had more interesting things to say. Did he make her work for it a little? Maybe you were too far away to catch enough detail to know.

It just comes from experience. You need to be able to read a girl's reactions and observe her a little to determine if she'll break her defenses at some point.

In some cases, especially with guys new to TRP, you just need to make different attempts to get her attracted. You might mess up on the first try. And then you might get it right and say something that makes her tingle.

With those two ideas in mind, then you need to consider how much time she's taking up and what your other options are. Maybe there's not that many girls in the venue. Then you could keep trying a little more. But if the place is bumpin, I'd go for just 2-3 attempts at sparking interest in a girl you think you can pull. If it's no dice, then just move on to the next.

This is in the context of a bar btw.

EDIT: Also, you should train yourself to not feel low value when persisting. CONFIDENCE. Girls put up the initial defenses to filter out the guys who don't truly believe they can do it and give up.

On you "problem": So you are telling me, you weren't able to build enough attraction with a girl, decided that you'd bail out, and got jealous, because some other guy could?
