So, I'm testing the waters re plate-spinning. The only rule I have created is that they need to be more than 2 hours drive apart.

I fly out of town most weekends to spend time with my ageing father and newborn niece. About a month ago, I arrived there and decided to find myself a plate. And I accomplished it pretty easily by going to the local university and just picking up a sorority girl; let's call her M, for the rest of this post.

M is graduating this term with a degree from my department. I have ins at every firm she wants to work for, and then some and live in a city with plenty of jobs for the field and not enough people to fill them.

First night we met, I had a one night stand with her and told her I'd love to stay in touch the next morning. We added each other on Facebook, I left her my business card and went about my merry way.

The next week, she took me to her favourite restaurant for dinner. After dinner, we fooled around a little and didn't go all the way.

She spent week before last in my town meeting potential employers (I arranged most of the meetings). I didn't see her as I'm a busy man during the workweek. I fly down again at the weekend. I texted her Saturday saying I was around, she didn't respond till Sunday morning. I flew back home Sunday night and saw her message when I got back, "Had an amazing trip but you never connected me! Haha... I found my way for sure though was successful". I responded "gr8" 12+ hours later and went to bed.

I woke up, went to work, checked Facebook at lunch, and found she'd blocked me on it. Did I take "dread game" too far?
