There is a comment that I've seen linked here or main sub several times.

In paraphrase, it is a guy explaining to a mixed audience what it feels like to be a man. That you have to work and perform all the time and if you halter then the woman will soon leave, and that it is exhausting and it makes us feel unloved.

A key phrase is something along the lines of "stop turning the wheel or crank for a moment and continue to have it turn on its own"....meaning we can falter or rest and the woman takes up the slack and still loves us.

I really need to read that again but can't find it.
