Fiction is the worst of the narrative. Ignore fiction, it teaches you nothing of the real world. It's spoon feeding you the narrative.

Is there any way a woman can be put to use in the outside world to ensure that she and her husband come out on top?

Perhaps, but I have no experience of this world.

I'll also like real life power couples, so I could read up on those.

The problem is that you don't know how any couple really interact. You never quite know where the real power is.

I know none and I would be thoroughly impressed if they could work. As the fiction already suggest, you either love each other or you function and complement each other but never both. Choose one, partner in business or partner in love. Both will betray you when it benefits them. You want to read up real stuff? Read about Elon Musk and John Cena for example, stop putting your time into fiction.

My grandparents were a power couple. Granted my grandpa was in his prime decades ago and when he was he ran a power plant for 30 years. My grandma was hungry for the social power dynamic my grandpa provided. They thrived on being better than everyone else. They fucked up their kids badly. Out of 3 kids the only one that did well and could function in life was my aunt.
