About to go to school for business to an awesome college.

Unless you know you have a job lined up after college, don't get a degree in business. A minor in it isn't a bad idea, but your college degree needs an actual thrust to it. Programming, computer science, physics, engineering, accounting- I'm actually a bit hesitant to recommend it, statistics, software engineering, etc, these all have a thrust.

Business isn't a thing. Everything you'd need to know from a business degree, you don't need one to know, and majoring in anything else that is actually valuable- show me any flattering statistics about post-graduation employment and income for business degree holders!- will give you an edge over anyone who has one of those business degrees. Business degrees are a dump major- it's where kids go who's parents expect a college degree but the kid has no idea what they want to do.

Seriously, go look up any statistics on the subject. Go hit up the Department of Labor Statistics, go see what they have to say about jobs that pay well that are not getting filled. Business degrees lost their punch 30 years ago when employers realized that everyone had a college degree, so asking for one wasn't weeding people out like it used to.
