So I recently tripped with some close friends. I was planning on getting an apartment with these two (guy and girl) and after this trip I’m concerned.
They seemed to be on a wavelength that was different than mine. This happens sometimes in real life, but never during a trip.
Throughout the course it seemed as if they would give each other attention frequently, (me, rarely), criticize my judgements if I did not make them confidently and both stopped talking to me completely at the end of the trip and I ended up leaving them for another friend (which pissed them off, of course).
I’ve also had sex with the girl, and the guy has felt third wheeled before. The passive aggressive behavior feels as if they are trying to knock me down a few notches, if you understand what I mean. I’m not sure exactly what to make of everything, as their perspectives seemed to be poisoned (taking offense to many things that are silly to take offense to, I said they were city kids (as they are) and this utterly pissed off the girl.)
If it helps, I am implied as the leader of the group usually, I even tried to get one of them to lead and they literally refused. (We we’re hiking on trails that none of us knew at the time) and they tend to hover around me when unsure of what to do at parties and social settings.
Has anyone had any experience with this type of behavior while tripping or otherwise? I used to love these kids but this passive aggressiveness has changed a lot for me.
