Obviously we've all read up on as much Game Theory as we can find, nitpicking where we fall, matching up who we know with what title to give them. It's also covered in some theory I've read that an alpha male high school quarterback may go on to be a beta-male construction worker, the military commander may be subservient to his wife in their relationship, so one need not be alpha all the time or an alpha forever. The ever-present goal is to be as alpha as possible, however in certain circles, i.e. fraternities, sports teams, exec boards, or even your circle of friends, it makes sense to me that there will be more than one alpha male. If you and this group were to spend all your time in that given circle, eventually some would become more beta and relinquish certain personality traits for the cohesion of the social group. I'm wondering what everyone in TRP's opinions are on this. I'm a student at university now and I know that there are some kids in my fraternity who see themselves as THE alpha male, but I know that most of us in the fraternity are involved in multiple other organizations, leaders in our classroom when it comes to doing groupwork, in great shape in the gym, pulling mad bitches, exceeding expectations when it comes to handling responsibilities. The argument of if someone is an alpha or a beta is often whether or not you would qualify them as better or worse than oneself. But at a certain point is it pointless to differentiate alpha and beta when the subjects are both higher SMV than the vast majority of the population.

I've also witnessed a subgroup who considered themselves to be alpha, better than the rest of the larger group at most everything, but where some of them were clearly subservient to others in the subgroup. I'm not sure if this is a groundbreaking question or something that has been covered before, but can some or even all of a group be alpha males? What kind of social environment would this imply?
