Hey folks,
About 10 years ago when I was 8 years old, my friends older brother convinced me to play this maze game. So I did, I went home, snuck to the computer and played it, and upon completion, a frightening picture popped up. At 8, this frightened me and I literally jumped off my computer and started crying.
Before this, I was incredibly confident and charming. Everyone loved me. However, following this, I closed up and wasn't as loud as before. I also was afraid to sleep alone for months. I felt I developed some sense of anxiety.
Over the years I got progressively more confident and less anxious. Almost incrementally in the sense that my development in this regard grew every year at the same rate
I would say that I am a much better man today than I was years prior. I am generally confident and charming. However I do display signs of anxiety on certain days, in the sense that my hands micro-tremble uncontrollably. This doesn't happen often. I would say once a week. The rest of it, I would say I do not display anxiety at all and am actually quite confident and charming. I do get laid. And I lift.
I can't help but wonder if this traumatic childhood experience is still negatively influencing my life today. Particularly on days where I do not have exceptional confidence.
What are your thoughts on this situation, particularly, what could I do to overcome this? I still feel slightly distraught when I think about it
