Eh... insecure dudes between 5'6 and 5'10 are always going to act like that. Just let it go. Having your coffee hidden from you isn't nearly as bad as having to compensate for being a runt. And you know what would happen if ya'll got in a fight: YOU would get fired.

At best, you could call him gay for trying to get your attention. "Jeff, I know what you're doing and I'm not interested in you. I mean, if I was like that I could clearly do better."

Ok - you walk in the room, see your coffee is missing, you take a quick look around, if you see it walk to it and instruct the nearest person to give it to you. Don't say thank you. you're not angry, you not humiliated, you're not relieved, you just found your coffee now you sit down like nothing has happened. Do not address the situation. It's too trivial to warrant a response.

Or, you come back take the same look around, can't see it. you're not looking around embarrassed, you just had your quick look so its obvious. Now you sit back down and carry on as normal. Now the person who has hidden the coffee is starting to feel really stupid. If the coffee is given back to you just look in the eyes of the giver like "really?" and proceed to drink. If the coffee isn't given back do not address it. If at some later point the guy comes up to you and tells you it was him, and sorry etc how funny it was, just be cool and "no worries, we all like a joke, just go and buy me a new one" <- hold eye contact, not aggressive, just assertive.

Other helpful pieces of information to consider;

you already said it yourself, you too buddy buddy, stop that immediately, they are not your equals so do not treat them as such.
Women and betas have a lot in common. Women hate to be pedestaled they react with disgust. Betas hate to be treated with respect, they react by acting up. Think about that carefully. If you see someone struggling in the gym and he's an alpha and you offer a spot his reaction will be "thank you yes please", if you do the same to a beta sometimes they say "thank you" sometimes they look at you like you just offered them hand job. They do not have the necessary level of alphaness to interact with you on that level. Now change the situation slightly you see someone struggling in the gym and you rush over and grab the weight off him because he's struggling. Alpha would say "Hey, what do you think you're doing!?!" whereas now the beta would say "thank you".

All men are not created equal do not treat them as such. The best way you can tell who is alpha is eye contact, those who give the longest and calmest eye contact to you are the most alpha (or serial killers). Those who divert often are betas.

Treat alphas with respect and they will reciprocate. Treat alphas with contempt and they will confront you. Treat betas with respect and they will confront you. Treat betas with contempt and they will comply. This is a massive over-simplification, but you get the idea.

Just let it go. I was taking a shit at work today and someone turned off the lights on the way out. Sure I was pissed at first but I just got out my phone so I could see (who am I kidding, it was already out because I was reading TRP) and finished the deed. I didn't raise a stink or cause a scene because if someone wants to act like a child in a professional atmosphere then that's on them. And not making a big thing of it is probably going to make them feel childish/stupid because they didn't get the attention they wanted.

If anything just look at them with a disappointing look that you would give a child. Don't say anything, just keep being professional.

I used to work on offshore oil rigs where people play pranks on each other all the time with no ill intent, so this seems pretty mild to me. Most likely you'd get the guy back with something more or less equally innocuous. My dad's co-workers were the same way. I guess it's a more serious atmosphere in an office compared to a blue collar environment.

Ignore it completely. Have no emotional reaction whatsoever. Someone who plays pranks on you wants that reaction. If you don't give it to them, they will stop eventually.
