throughout first 3 years of HS I was into that shit hardcore. It was me, my room, my PC, my games, my audiophile-grade audio set-up, and that was it.
End of junior year I abandoned that shit COMPLETELY and haven't played a game since pretty much. It's been 2-3 years since.Initially there was a boost in productivity but as of late I've kinda just found other things to waste time with things somehow feel less productive than gaming.
I've done all the typical monk mode stuff (lifting reading meditation) and I've pretty much come full circle to realize:
1) I need a lot more alone time, away from humans, to genuinely work on myself with meditation as the main focus
2) I've gone nowhere. The only worthwhile thing I've done is become healthy and raise my awareness.
3) not having pastimes leads to waste time a lot and I burn out quickly when doing "productive" thing as a result. I know deep down I'm being a weak no discipline bitch but I miss being a normal human being that isn't living a monk mode lifestyle.
One of those pass times could be PC gaming again.
But so could learning more instruments or reading more or more rock climbing etc.
Would you guys recommend that I go back? I'd obviously moderate my use, but I'd also drop approximately 2500 or more on my rig because I'm just that type of motherfucker
