I'm 21 years old, working a full time job where I make damn good money (although I hate the job itself) and I'm still living at home. Here's the thing. My parent's advice is that I wait until I've saved up enough money to own a home, that way I'm making an investment, rather than just paying rent indefinitely. Also, I have some business ideas I'd like to start on sometime, and they've told me that if I'm living on my own, it's going to be a lot harder to turn these ideas into a reality, since I won't have nearly as much money to experiment with.

However, I feel like living at home has turned me into a straight up man-child. I can't make any decisions for myself, I'm always dependent on my parent's to make them for me. I feel like I can't think for myself. I feel like I haven't truly entered adulthood, and it's holding me back in nearly all aspects of my life. I want to get my shit together and become the best I can be, but I don't know if I can do this while I'm still under their roof.
