don't be such a creep and overthink it. I'm no expert but getting there before her and ordering your food before hand is a bit fucked up. Just order at the same time and ask the waitress to make it two separate orders. If she insists though, let her pay and back out.
If possible, I've been told by other terpers that it's best if you decide what both of you eat. This probably requires a little finesse so I'm not sure if it'll work out.
Anyway, share how you asked her out. Was it a cold approach?

I agree I'm over thinking it. I have no trouble banging girls but I've been out of the dating game for quite some time.
We met at a social and I got to know her a little. Some how we found each other on Facebook and I gave it 2 weeks to see if I bumped into her going to class or something but I never saw her. So I just said fuck it and asked her to lunch over Facebook. We planned out the time and she gave me her #.
I don't know if this restaurant has shared dishes. It's kind of like a chipotle set up where you pick your stuff out of a bowl and pay at the end of the line.

Cold is the easiest of all. The more you get denied, the easier it gets. You learn to not care and approach more often.

well university. Cold seems to be what would work best for me, but the one time I got a number I wasn't interested in her and the other time I got clock/cock blocked.

Dont ask if she wants you to pay for it or not. Don't over think it. Just say "Can we get our checks?". Don't even wait for her to interject. Most people now days don't try to make the dude pay, because "women are strong!!"
Well we'll be walking through the line together. Think of ordering a bowl at chipotle. Do I just let her go first and see what she does when she gets to the cashier? Or should I offer?
EDIT: I think politely let her order first, assuming she will pay for hers (I'll still be ordering my food). After that I'll pay for mine and order some sushi for us both. That I think that sounds pretty good.

Do whatever makes you comfortable, the main thing is to not overthink it. Its just like 8 bucks. If shes really breaking the bank for 8 bucks, shes bad at managing money and you have your first red flag.

If it's a chipotle situation, honestly it's not a date. It's weird to pay. I did that once in college (literally at chipotle) and it ended up being awkward. Use it as a chance to get to know her. If you can, end the "date" somewhere other than this place. Go for a walk, get ice cream, whatever. It's just kinda completely mundane to sit around at an "order at the counter" sort of place, especially if it's the sort of place you both go regularly.
It's definitely more higher end than chipotle, hard to explain. I'm not going to pay, just gonna get sushi for the table. The goal is to bring her to a party that night but I'm gonna run through my options and see how this goes with her. She's hot enough to go with me, but I don't know how she acts.
