Hey guys, just looking for a quick hit of advice regarding my current situation. I work a pretty physical job that pays well, I also get the benefits of overtime pay (so time and a half and double time pay) if I stay back at work or work weekends.
When it comes to the gym I’ve been lifting for a few years now. When I first started I was about 60kg 6”0 feet tall. A skinny runt to say the least. After the first year and a half I was able to get to 80kg and I was pretty happy with my physique, not massive but not a stick figure anymore either and I’ve just been trying to stay on the 80kg mark and set smaller goals such as having more defined abs, defining biceps; etc. I definitely felt the huge increase in self esteem when I could tell how much better I was looking and how my success with women had improved quite a lot.
These days however, work has been incredibly demanding with a lot of overtime available (so I’m saving a shit load more money) I want to have my own house by the end of 2018 before I turn 26. Ultimately it’s up to me if I want to work overtime, I can always say no without my managers questioning it. Being raised as a hard worker I rarely turn down overtime, the goal of having my own place is pretty important to me but because I work so much it has it has adversely affected my gym time. I go once or twice a week now if that.
I’m not worried about putting on body fat because my job is physically demanding and genetically my metabolism does too good of a job at my age plus I make pretty good food choices but it’s hard to tell if I’ll lose muscle mass because they’re not getting used as sufficiently as they once were, not to mention working so much can run me down a bit. Im planning to take 4 days off this weekend for the first time in 6 weeks.
If you were in my position at my age (24) what would you be prioritising and what areas would you be focusing on to improve your life? Keen to hear what people say.
Also a side question for people who can relate; my job is fucking dirty as hell. As a consequence my bacne and blind pimples on my face have started to resurface. It’s not that bad in my face but it can still be quite annoying however my back gets fucking terrible. If anyone else reading this suffered from a similar problem, what did you do to control it?
