I'm asking this in regards to an LTR. We have a bit of a power struggle, which I'm sure is common around here: she gets defensive when she feels I'm distant, and I become distant when I feel incongruence/things don't go as planned.

A few days ago I read on TRP some advice: don't ignore women when things don't go your way, just act friendly and aloof, as if you're unaffected and have no qualms with her mercurialness.

This makes complete sense and I rarely have trouble implementing it with plates, but when my LTR deviates from a plan or acts in some way where I'd instinctually respond slightly aggravated, is it better to assume that unaffected friendly tone?

TL;DR It seems to me that if you respond in a bitter tone (even in the slightest way), she will detect that you're emotionally butthurt and her respect for you will thenceforth plummet. Same goes when you blatantly ignore her texts.
