The No More Mr Nice Guy book has a chapter about sharing your feelings with your girlfriend. Supposedly, you need to tell her how you feel like, e.g. angry, helpless, sad, depressed, hopeless.
However, myself and some people on this sub are probably against this, and would argue that showing your feelings is showing your weaknesses. It may be tempting to share, but eventually it will cause her to lose respect for you.
No More Mr Nice Guy even gives this as an example of a phrase you can tell her:
I'm feeling helpless and frightened
So do I share or not?
Example of real-life situations:
- I am frustrated by situations at work. Tell her or not?
- I am exhausted and frustrated at the divorce process with my ex. Tell my new GF or not?
- I am pissed that we are being late and she walks slowly, but I don't want to rush either. Tell her or not?
- I am sad that I hardly have any social life except her. Tell her or not?
- I am frustrated that I slept till late and got late for everything. Tell her or not?
From my own point of view, the answer is "No, shut the fuck up and deal with your problems yourself", but it seems NMMNG is arguing against repressing your feelings.
