My (23) FWB (20) was very submissive, fun to hang around etc. After I got back from vacation she invited me to her birthday party but then told me her ex was invited as well because he is in one of her friend groups and if she didn't invite him they would be mad. She described him as a beta, so I told her I would only come if she wouldn't act as if I was her new bf and she couldn't present me to anyone as her bf. She said "I have the feeling you don't event want to be my bf", probably due to having had the talk with her already.

I told her I was bringing my brother as well. After the meetup she texts me "I can't confirm that your brother can come, I want to wait until the other guests respond". She invited a total of 30 people and even told me that some of her girlfriends will bring their boyfriends.

I feel like this is disrespect, inviting her ex without hesitation but regarding my brother, she wants to wait.

She sent me several other text messages after asking about my day and telling me about hers, which she usually doesn't do. I haven't responded.

Should I soft next and demote to plate or hard next? If I soft next do I respond to her texts with one word answers?
