Yes it affects it, coming off them will return to normal but it sounds like you need them for your mental well being.

Disclaimer: everyone is different and this is only my personal experience. Take what applies to you (if anything) and leave the rest.

I think being on SSRIs has actually helped my sex life. I had issues with PE before and one of the side effects is delayed ejacualation. It helped me last longer and not cum in an embarrassingly short time. That said, I had to also refrain from masturbating. If I had within a day or two of having sex I couldn't finish at all. If I held off on masturbating I could come with a girl after about 10-15 min of good penetration (maybe 30-40 min overall including foreplay and messing around).

I did experience lower libido in general, but it didn't completely go away. If anything it helped me raise my standards. No longer did I feel like pursuing sex with any girl with a pulse, but only girls that could cross the threshold of piquing my interest despite lower libido. This resulted in less frequent, but higher quality sex. I would rather hook up with a submissive 7+ once a month over a string of 4-5s twice a week who act like being a dead starfish is doing you a favor.

Edit: I just wanted to add that I'm not trying to condone or promote the use of SSRIs. I do believe they're over-prescribed and there's countless studies and evidence that they could do more harm than good. Myself, I resisted taking them for years before I finally gave in to doctors recommendations and tried them. They have changed my life for the better from a mental standpoint, and the side effects have been minimal and mostly positive. The biggest negative side effect actually is digestive problems if I don't take it after a meal. Taking it after a meal there's no issue

The doctor offered to write me a Rx for generic ED meds but I didn't wanna be dependent on those. IMO it's better just to get off the pills if you can, I've been tapering down my dose and will off it next week (have been on them for 3 years)

SSRI destroys your libido and drive. Takes about a month or two once your off to totally get your libido back. You may have some problems with totally discontinuing your SSRI. Many experience a withdraw that can be described as a electric shock type feeling followed by dizziness the first few days after quitting them. Don't be discouraged if it takes more than one try to get off of the SSRI. slowly reducing the dose down to the lowest over weeks is the key. If you ever wish to go back on a SSRI again Wellbutrin doesn't have a big libido side effect.
