So it was hot, I decided to take a swim a few days back. It was over 100 easy, but being during the day there were no kids in the pool. And being a work day, at around 3ish, there were nobody at all. Had the pool all to myself. Enter 8/10 Dirty Blonde who lives nearby. I was sitting behind a cabana in the shade texting, didn't make any obvious moves towards the pool area when just walked in, just kept doing what I was doing.

After a short period I jumped back into the pool swam around a bit (now there was also an older gent 40-50s laying on a float sunbathing his leather skin) she did not enter the pool at all, feet only "sunbathing".

Finally, the courage to present her with some sort of conversation came upon me and I grabbed a Frisbee and threw it in her direction and made a comment about how actually getting into the water would be the purpose of coming to the pool and she should do so by throw the frisbee with me a bit. She politely declined saying that she is not great at frisbee.

I sat across the pool from her, requested her name, how she was able to come to a pool in the middle of a day, what she did for work, and if she lived in the complex. Made a few jokes, got a few laughs, she asked me what I did for work, I first responded that I was an astronaut. But because I was unable to gauge a reaction (couldn't see her glasses off while in the pool) I succumbed to the truth.

She used the fact I was an IT to try to have a common interest, computers. Small jokes about being a geek (her, not me) seemingly causal conversation, she got a call, said her pizza arrived and quickly got up to leave. She said she sees me around the complex often, mostly walking my dog or out for a run.

I'm never going to see her again am I? Crashed that so hard and I have no idea HOW. What could I learned from this?
