Been lurking for the past month in this subreddit and the main one and I think it's time I swallow the last half of the pill but I need some help doing so.

Brief summary of my life is as follows: 23 and about to graduate with an English Major at a big name University. Could not give a single fuck about this because I did nothing to earn it. My problem is that I've been coddled and given things my entire life and with a little bit of intelligence, I learned to breeze by and avoid improving anything about myself. My school being a prime example of this.

Been through 4 years of collage from a prestigious school and it was all paid for. Instead of paying, I got paid to go to college while nearly 99% of all my friends will be leaving college with some amount of debt. That's always been my life. Even though I come from a poor family, people give me shit and I just happen to be at the right place at the right time for them to do so. Not really complaining but I jot it down to one of the reasons for why I'm in need of help.

Because you see my biggest problem in life is that I'm just a lazy dude. I've never had to try at anything all that much for me to do the bare minimum required to please those that needed pleasing so I could lay around and do nothing. (Videogames/Social Media) And if I had to put in more than the bare minimum required, I simply moved on to another project that was easier. (Which is why I'm majoring with an English degree after a free ride to a great University.....Not putting down English because I like it a lot but still).

Anyhow I'm about to graduate now and I really need to set some priorities straight, namely what exactly do I want to do with my life. So far all I can come up with is that:

  1. I want to go to a beach and drink some Corona,
  2. Travel the world.
  3. Get Rich or enough so that I won't have anything to worry about.
  4. Have a fit body/be healthy.
  5. Be a Social God

So far pretty attainable goals. So what do I have already that can help me reach those goals?

To attain 1,2, and 3 I need money and I already have a job though it doesn't pay that well is a pretty sweet gig. Also not in debt and don't ever plan on being in one.

However my job currently isn't going to get me anywhere near my top 3 goals so I need to start learning other ways I can achieve that and one of those was learning Forex while applying for a better paying job.

This requires effort and dedication.

Number 4 and 5 I'm completely average on. I have a semi fit body which is just in my genes because I don't go to a gym I pay too much for and as for being a Social God, again I'm average at it. One of the reasons I get things in life more than others is because I have this knack of befriending everyone. I genuinely love to meet people and it helps that I have such an easy smile and a friendly face. Dream job is definitely something like the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Get HB's to come to you and get to know them ;)

Anyhow I apologize for the long post but here is my wrap-up: I realize I have a lot of potential and I have so many things going for me but I'm terrified that on my deathbed all I would be remembered for is having lived an average life. This is a worse fate than anything I can conjure up in my head. To not even try and live but just settle like I've been doing my entire life.

Thus after next week, since I'm a free man basically and can do whatever I want to do in my life, I've decided to actually commit and see what a little bit of effort might get me in life coupled with my natural talents.

So far here is what I have:

  1. Meditate at least 20 minutes everyday. 1 hr preferably.
  2. Go to the gym 4 times a week.
  3. Eat healthy everyday
  4. Severally reduce my social media consumption.
  5. Read a book a week.
  6. Start researching ways I can increase my income.
  7. And the rest of the time not spent on work, sleep, or any of the above, I'll go out and meet cuties.

There is nothing physically and/or mentally stopping me from achieving any of those things other than my own weakness.

But yeah that's just my plan. Any feedback on any of this is well appreciated and highly desired. Also any tips maintaining my drive so I don't quit halfway is also welcomed.

Also feel free to criticize to your hearts content!
