So recently I told my oneitis (a coworker but the job's not important) that I wanted her and got rejected. She's attracted but she's in an LTR; I'm married with kids but was prepared to drop it all for her.

Anyway, after a week of me being polite but not really hanging around chatting with her like we used to, today she calls me out on it.

"Why have you been ignoring me?"

I did what many people on here advise, and said "I've been busy with work" but this simply wouldn't wash with her. Whilst I haven't been ignoring her completely, I just haven't been giving her the attention she's used to from me and it's clearly affecting her.

She's back to the flirty eye contact, the suggestive compliments, the "missing me" - it's so funny watching this play out as it's so predictable since I've been reading up on this stuff. Because I've acted more aloof, more distant, I think she fears losing me so she's almost chasing me.

I ended up saying to her something like "I don't want you to get upset because you think I'm ignoring you, but you must realise the situation"

She backtracked a bit: "I'm not upset (she clearly was)"

The problem I need help with is the fact I'm in limbo with this girl. I have to pass her desk every day at work. I still can't stop thinking about her despite starting to lift etc. and putting more effort into my family. The more I ignore her, the more attracted she becomes which ALWAYS makes me think I actually do have a shot.

Do I need to just bite the bullet and quit my job to save myself from going completely insane over this girl?
