Hey guys, i've lurked TRP for about 7 months now, slowly implementing the ideas taught here into my everyday life. I'm 18 so still in high school. I've got the basics down: I read everyday, I workout every day before my track practice starts, I've become extremely sociable and eliminated a majority of my anxiety around women. However, i am still running into some problems. I'm not quite one of the popular kids at my school but it seems everyone genuinely likes me by the way they react to my presence. In order to begin my infiltration of the popular group, I've been attending more parties and social events. I went to the St. Patty's day parade with a very large group of friends, a party that night, and another the next day. My inquiry begins with the second party: What should i do better.
I went to this party with the expectation that it would be as large as the one the night before, but I was mistaken. While there was about 200 kids at the one the night before, this party maxed out at maybe 50 people. I thought when I arrived (45 minutes after it started) that there would be a sizable amount of people, but when i got there, there was about 20 people. I knew everyone there at the time. Then people who were very good friends of mine showed up and we began playing beer pong. About two rounds in these girls I've never seen before showed up, turns out they're from a state over. There was one that caught my eye on the way in, we're gonna call her K. We made eye contact for about five seconds and i smirked at her, which is usually my strategy (I know it probably sucks). She faded into the crowd for a while so I continued my pong round. Before the end of the round she was dancing on me while i held her as close as i could. I still wasn't paying much attention to her because I had her already. I then finished my round of pong.
This is where I got semi-confused. When I finished, I asked her name and told her K was a hot name, it suits her well. After about 15 minutes of us dancing and chatting, I asked if she wanted to come and help me with something. She proceeded to go across the party and asked a girl at my school about me, and I knew what was going to happen before it even did. She didn't come back to dance on me, I shrugged it off and talked with all of my friends (Male and Female). She then proceeded to give me eyes for the rest of the party but never became as adventagious as she had initially. I was pretty drunk and high so I wasn't in the mood to play games. I assume that the girl from my school said that i wasn't quite part of their group or something of that nature. How do I learn from this experience? I feel like if i was in a larger venue there would have been no problems. What should I improve?
TLDR; Went to a party as an 18 year old, attempted to close, friends stopped her, couldn't finish, how fix
