Evening.
Ok, so whilst the title is pretty much a description of where my question comes from, its not 100 per cent technically accurate.
7 months ago I found myself living in my parents house again after a nasty breakup and dissolving of the shared apartment. At the ripe old age of 31 years and 3 days, I was back in the bedroom I lost my virginity in. I am far removed from my old life geographically and socially - a nice metaphore for the feeling of being 'lost'.
I was about 100lbs heavier than when I left, with a go nowhere job and many creditors.
With nothing else to do,I spent a stupid amount of time online. I somehow stumbled into the redpill (and its related material) and, like many of you I felt a switch come on in my brain.
I've swallowed the redpill. It just hasn't dissolved yet (which is why I'm here asking your opinion).
October : I conned my way into a better job with a 30 per cent increase in salary from the last one. Make no mistake - I straight up lied and charmed my fat ass into one of 12 positions with more than 200 second stage applicants. This job has better hours and real prospects, although its a government job and my ambitions reach far beyond what the 'ladder' can offer.
Slowly I am paying off debt. I am losing the weight that so hinders my progress with self confidence - and women obviously. I am reading. But here's the thing:
I don't know what to do regarding my housing situation. A grown man should not live under the same roof as his parents. I know this. Self improvement, in this almost monk-mode part of my life is costly. I earn 30 per cent more than I did, but that's still not a lot of money, and there are many things that need paying for.
I have little education, however that can be fixed -there are options available to me to study in my own time. But it will cost, and I still don't exactly know what to study - though that's a different question.
I need braces, my teeth are a mess. They will cost.
As I lose more weight, my body shape changes and slowly I emerge from the monastery (so to speak) I will need to change my look. Yes, even the small things like clothes and grooming will put a dent in my meagre salary.
I already mentioned the debt I have.
Look, soon enough there will be overtime and I can earn so much more. I could afford to live on my own, have no social life and read and exercise - but probably not educate or cosmetically improve myself.
-or-
I stay here. Live cheaply (no social life, remember?) Read, exercise, study and improve my appearance - but be the 31 year old who stays with Mommy and Daddy. They're nice people but I'm not family orientated. Doesn't have the romantic 'Monk Mode' feel about it does it?
Which one would you do? How would you proceed?
