Don't worry about it. If he's chatting shit to everyone about everyone people won't like him. It may seem like he has their support when there with him, but he doesn't, their just a bitch, an intimidated by him.

One thing you could do is identify important people within the workplace and or people who support him and give him power.Be part of a group conversation with him, without the people you identified and then, at a later point, have a quiet word with them along the lines of:

"Hey ---- I was with trump and some other co-workers before just talking, and I feel really uncomfortable about what was being said, I don't condone slander which is why I came straight to you about seeing as it concerns you. He'll deny it because we both know what he's like but he was saying some nasty untrue things about you, which could ruin your reputation and I don't think that's right so I'm giving you a heads up about it. He'll lie and say he wasn't but I think if anything that just shows he wouldn't say anything to your face just behind your back"

There are several key points about this approach, the first is that you need to diminish any social power support. Without that people will dislike him and the more trumpish he is the worse it will get for him.

Second is destroy his reputation, in the above scenario by saying he is a liar and actually repeating that point lator on. More repetition means the idea will seem more like fact in their head. Be careful with this though. You can't just say he's a liar to everyone. You need to find a talking point and suggest it to them in a way which will lead them to thinking the idea themselves

There's more points but there very intrinsic and typing on my phone is bear effort.

The final point is it will come back to you.your name will be dropped when your target confronts trump. A good deffense and you will be fine. Don't mention the other people in the group Convo, say you don't want to drop them in because it wasn't them. People will speculate as to who else was in the convo. If you have been seen to have a few different group convos and have spoken to your target at a separate time point then people won't be able to distinguish what the group was. Plus you've let them off the hook. They arnt in the firing line so they won't really care.

As for trump he'll come out that your a liar or worse and try to tell everyone. You've got to be smarter. Have normal conversations with people about it, using everyone's perception of him against him, along the lines of

"I knew he would lie and try to chat rubbish about me. We all know what he's like always complaining about other people, makes you wonder what he's said about us and then lied about, hard to trust a guy like that, you know?"
