No one gives a shit. I have tattoos and I forget that I have them. Every once in a while someone will ask about them. They aren't uncommon or taboo anymore. And they won't make you look tough.

Where I live it’s more uncommon to see people without tattoos. Nothing special about it tbh. If you wanna get a tat do it for yourself and not to attract girls.

I've been thinking about getting tattoos, too. Already have one. But the truth is it's not gonna change things. Eventually you forget you have it. And most times you'll have clothes on covering that up.

Your expectations for social reactions once you get a tattoo are a bit unrealistic and something out of an anime. Women when they see I have a tattoo have usually been impressed. But this is nothing if I am not confident. If I am not strong. Like, it's just ink. Anyone can get a tattoo. Think about it in the movies. Weak guys in the films can get tattoos. It's the strong ones who have brawn, who when they have tattoos, can come across scary. But it's what's in them and not on them at that point.

The bigger questions are why you want to fend off rivals and instill fear in other men. Why you want guys to be afraid of you? Ever heard of making allies / friends? Like, whe nI got my tat, I wasn't looking to scare others away or impress girls. Not entirely anyway :) I wanted something that was cool and that meant something to me.
