I learned to never message a girl back after she flakes. It's a shit test test I often encountered when meeting girls online. I would never message back and usually she would hit me up a few days later asking me what I'm doing that night and that she wants to hangout. As to why replying to her is failure, I suppose acknowledging the flake of sombody op has never met communicates a lack of self respect.

I did once have a date set up with a girl that flaked on me last minute because of a dentist appointment. In her message she apologized and begged me not to hate her. I didnt reply and she never hit me back. In that case I think the flake was honest and ignoring backfired.

don't speak for a few days

This doesn't work in this era. Make sure the date is very soon (like the same day or in maybe 1 or 2 days), so you can strike when the iron is hot. Always strike when the iron is hot.

Or the other option if the date is say a week later, keep her slightly engaged. Only texting for logistics does not work in this era if the date is further away than 1/2 days.

Numbers game. She is not invested. Why would she? You never met, and she has many other options. Nothing to worry about.
