You thinking your job will help you with an issue which is always self-created (because they all are) is hamstering.

You have to work to solve your issues. Approach anxiety isn't going to disappear because you get a greeter job. Approach anxiety is going to disappear only if you actively work at it.

In order to get rid of that, you need to work. You need to bust out a notebook, or a computer, or whatever, and start recording every time you approach a woman.

And by that I mean every time you hit on a chick. Every time you do, write it down. Set easy goals - try once a day, or at least 7 a week for the first week. Then double that. Then double that.

PUA has some shit really, really wrong, but what it has right is aggressive work at fixing your issues. So if your issue isn't your fitness, your status, or your beta traits, and instead it's your fear of failure, it's time to go fail until you're not scared anymore.

Because once you fail enough, you'll see that there isn't anything to be afraid of. And once you see that, you'll be ready to move on to the next phase.

Until then, you're stuck. So don't kid yourself. You'll fix this, or no one will.

A job wont fix this.

I send out a very generic opener like "hey how's it going?". This will get you fewer responses overall, but the girls that do respond will be more interested.

Then a bit of casual chat. I'll try to be funny/witty if I can but don't force it or go over the top with it.

After 2-3 message exchanges I'll say "So would you be up to get together some time?". This will weed out the validation seekers. If they are down to meet, I'll set up the date at that point.

Some will want to talk a bit more before they feel comfortable. If the girl is very attractive, I will indulge this to some degree, ask her some personal questions to get her to open up a bit, but I will pitch the date again at the next lull in the conversation.

You always want to come back to the real life meet, since if you just keep chatting, there are girls on there who will chat you up for days but never intend to meet you.
