I'm studying Mathematics BSc in Italy, and I'm at first year now.

It is highly theoretical, and in these few months I realized that maybe I'd like to do something more masculine and realistic than studying.

My father however keeps saying that office jobs are by far better and hard physical jobs will only cause stress, bad health and will never pay well.

He is very old school about education and still thinks it is a gateway to wealth. I tell him that you need to have a business, but I understand his point of view, having had a rough life as an immigrant, that's why I'm asking here.

Math is very hard no cap, and it takes a bit of time to understand abstract concepts. However all I hear is that it is a marketable degree; but I don't want to teach, and I'm afraid that even professions like data science will be obsolete with AI.

I'd like to build businesses, but my country has very high taxes and a bad economy. I thought about making money online on the side.

I'm 20,and here we finish high school at 18/19. I'm really tired of studying and I don't enjoy it (I only like reading useful books for self improvement) , but I do it for the sake of a better future and for my family.

Should I change to a more practical course such as engineering, stay in math or find a job abroad (considering that I will move out anyway after degree)?
