I told the woman I'd meet her for a beer after the game was over. She said that she wasn't watching it, and would I text her when it was over so she would know when to leave. I said that I would.
BZZZZT.
She knows my job, which is very hot in a BB kinda way. I don't think her alpha-test would measure whether or not she'd decide to flake; it would just decide whether or not she'd be expecting a fun, take-charge guy, or more of a milquetoast, makes-a-good-living kinda guy.
So, I did text her when I was leaving. It occurred to me then that I had texted entirely too much, and then I realized why. I called to cancel (I consider that polite -- what if they miss the text?) and I said I would set something up next week.
She asked if I'd be working the same place this coming week, which suggests she's still interested, but I don't think we're interested in the same kind of fun (I'm in party mode, not LTR mode) so I probably won't bother.
What do you guys think? Was that an alpha test, or did I overthink?
